  • Building authority, the role of the boss, and decision-making processes
  • Approach to time and deadlines in Indian culture

Module II

Cooperation and communication with Indians

  • Challenges of virtual cooperation
  • Typical communication styles — high- and low-context cultures
  • Understanding the “unsaid” — how to better interpret messages from Indian colleagues
  • Practical guidelines for communication via phone, email, and meetings
  • Writing effective correspondence with Indian partners
  • The concepts of saving and losing face — and their impact on collaboration
  • Handling errors and escalation situations
  • Summary: creating your personal plan for more effective cooperation with Indian colleagues
