    Module I

    Intercultural Projects

    • Culture – how does it affect cooperation in a team?
    • Culture as an iceberg – beliefs and values vs. behavior. How to adopt a non-judgmental attitude?
    • Introduction to the dimensions of culture as a way to understand cross-cultural differences
    • Ways to build relationships and trust across cultures – how does this translate into initiating a project?
    • Power distance – approaches to hierarchy in different cultures
    • The role of the employee, the role of the boss – how does it affect the understanding of cooperation in a project team?​​

    Teamwork Across Cultures

    • Punctuality or flexibility – which approach to time and project planning is expected in selected cultures?​
    • Decision-making – when is a decision considered to have been made
    • What is considered a “job well done” in different cultures
    • My communication style vs. the styles of my colleagues from other cultures – high and low context​
    • Feedback – a constructive approach in both cultures
    • What should be taken care of when giving feedback in a cross-cultural team? What appreciation do people from different cultures expect?​
    • Learner or judgmental approach – what principles are worth adopting in cross-cultural cooperation?

    Diagnosis and prework
